Free LEGAL online music

I’m sure a lot of you have heard about Pandora, an online radio station that will allow you to find music similar to other music you like. Its a good way to cruise along the work day listening to cool, semi-familiar tunes.

At the store, however, we’ve found a new guilty pleasure. Musicovery (like discovery for music). You select the genres you like, then pick if you’d like it to be fast or slow, positive or dark. From then on out, you’ve got some neat tunes (which are filterable by decade and hit or non-hit) to jam out through the day.

Telephone Obscurity

I’ve had the opportunity to beta test a new service recently bought out by Google called Grand Central. This service offers you a new phone number that acts as a central point of communication that will disperse your incoming calls to any number of other phone numbers. What this means is someone can call my Grand Central account, and my cellphone rings and my home phone rings. I can pick up either phone to accept the call.

Normally, this wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. That sort of service can be set up without too much of a headache. The cool part is, I’m presented with options. I can press 1 to accept the call, press 2 to send it to voice mail, press 3 to send it to voice mail, but listen in (similar to how people screen calls with an answering machine) or I can press 4 to accept the call and begin recording.

My call logs, recorded conversations and such are all accessible via their webpage. Head over there to check out all the other cool features they have.

return true;
